Halloween Lesson Plan

Pumpkins, bones and a little history: a Halloween week that is all real science and no filler.

Kids float a pumpkin and count its seeds, test whether a bigger pumpkin holds more, separate candy dyes on a coffee filter, build a labeled skeleton, meet the real bats, owls and spiders behind the spooky ones, and learn where Halloween really came from. Each level gets its own five-day plan: read Monday, write Tuesday, lab Wednesday, build Thursday, present Friday. It is secular, not gory, and every activity works at a kitchen table or in a classroom.
