Lesson Plan
Meet Dolly Parton (1946 to 2026), the Smoky Mountain girl who grew up in a small cabin, sang her way to the Grand Ole Opry and mailed free books to millions of children.
This five-day Women's History mini lesson gives you short, ready-to-teach plans for three levels, Littles (K-3), Middles (4-6) and Bigs (7-8), so siblings or a mixed classroom can learn together. Each day follows the same rhythm: Reading, Writing and Words, Science and Math, Hands-on Project, then Friday Show and Tell. Littles fill in a Fact File, tell why a coat made from scraps meant so much, and pluck hair ties to hear high and low sounds. Middles build a life timeline, test how thickness and length change pitch, and do Imagination Library math. Bigs find octaves with string-length ratios, sort fact from opinion and write a personal narrative.
Perfect for Women's History Month, music units, biography studies and homeschool families.
