Lesson Plan

Christmas Tree Cutting Scissor Skills Lesson Plan (Littles K-3, 1 Week)

Littles (K-3)$7

One new cut a day, one new decoration, and a whole paper Christmas tree by Friday.

This one-week Littles edition is for grades K to 3, and each day takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Kids climb a cutting ladder: straight lines on Monday, curves on Tuesday, zigzags on Wednesday and simple shapes on Thursday. Every new cut makes something for the tree: the tree itself, round word ornaments, a zigzag garland, a star, gifts and bells. Wednesday adds a Snip Test, where kids guess which line takes the most snips and keep a tally. Friday is Show and Tell: the star goes on top and your child or students give a tree tour, naming the cut behind each decoration.

Perfect for kindergarten to grade 3 classrooms, homeschool families, fine motor practice and the weeks before Christmas.
